Jesus and the Halo Helmets - A1

comedy, novelty, musical theatre

Verse 1

I wandered through a cathedral just admiring the art,
Trying to stay respectful with a reverent heart.
Then I looked at every painting hanging high upon the wall…
And I noticed one weird pattern I just couldn’t unsee at all.

Every saint was smiling, every angel shining bright,
With a glowing golden circle like a headlight in the night.
I leaned in to my buddy, said, “I don’t mean to rebel it…
But why does everyone in Heaven wear a bicycle helmet?”

(Chorus)
🎵 Halo helmets! Halo helmets!
Strapped on tight with celestial pride!
Do they come in extra holy,
With a chin strap on the side?
Halo helmets! Halo helmets!
Approved for ascension use!
If you’re walking into glory,
Better buckle up your deuce! 🎵

(Verse 2)
Heaven’s got a rulebook—fifteen thousand pages deep,
With a chapter on “Glow Protocol” and commandments you must keep.
“No ascent without protection—this is cosmic regulation,
All divine illumination needs certified head insulation!”

Moses had his tablets, Noah had his boat,
David had a slingshot and a very floaty coat.
But Jesus got the premium deluxe eternal fit—
A halo helmet system that just will not quit!

(Chorus)
🎵 Halo helmets! Halo helmets!
Standard issue at the Pearly Gate!
Made of pure eternal brilliance,
With a warranty that never expires late!
Halo helmets! Halo helmets!
They never need a battery or wire!
They’re powered by pure holiness…
And possibly celestial fire! 🎵

(Bridge – Airport Security in Heaven)
“Sir, please place your halo in the inspection tray.”
“It’s attached to my soul.”
“That’s what they all say.”
beep beep beep
“Your halo is triggering the divinity scanner again.”
“I told you—it’s not removable.”
“Ma’am, no cutting in line with a harp.”
“I’m on the worship express lane.”
“Your halo is in blinding mode.”
“It does that when I’m nervous.”
“Step aside for secondary inspection.”
“Is that… Saint Peter with a clipboard?”
“Standard Heavenly TSA procedure.”

(Verse 3)
Heaven feels like safety training in the sky,
Angels taking roll call as the clouds drift slowly by.
“Keep your halo locked—no unsanctioned glow or flare,
And report any excessive radiance in the air.”

Cherubs read the handbook, neatly printed, line by line:
“Do not remove your halo—even if it feels just fine.”
And if your light goes overboard, too dazzling to contain,
An angel shows up humming “Safety First” again.

(Final Chorus)
🎵 Halo helmets! Halo helmets!
I can’t get this image out my brain!
Golden rings with chin straps glowing,
In a never-ending holy train!
Halo helmets! Halo helmets!
Maybe I’ve misunderstood the plan…
But if Heaven’s got a gift shop…
I’m definitely buying one if I can! 🎵

(Outro)
I hope they let me try one on…
just for a minute…
supervised…
for research purposes…
and maybe a quick photo…
